Although our satnav did not have this site as a place of interest we found it was well signposted from Braga until that is, we were actually there when the sign was missing. There is a small car park on the side of the road, big enough for a motorhome.

There is a small charge to get in and a visitor centre with toilets and a small bar/cafe. This place is only for the sure footed though as the old roads are made of stones and cobbles and are not even.

This site was inhabited in Neolithic times and was still occupied by the Celt-Iberians when the Romans arrived and it is thought to have been abandoned in 300AD.

The guide available at the visitor centre guides you around the site and points out where the civic buildings  and compounds were. 

There is also a reconstruction of one of these houses, although today it is acknowledged that it probably would not have been so high and the door would have been much lower.

This is an impressive site, its large and in an excellent defensive position at the top of a hill.
